Hi,
Is there a way to keep the child topic showing even though the connected content (Knowledge articles) is expired?
Child topics are not visible in the menu if articles mapped to them are expired.
Topics
Sub topics
child topics
Thank you 🙂

Hi,
My apologies if my reply was confusing, but I'm talking about base functionality within the platform and this includes Topics/Child Topics regardless of where they may be whether menu, widget, etc. The same is true for other parts of the platform as well, such as Knowledge. If a Category doesn't have any active content, the Knowledge Category will not show. The same is true for Service Catalog, if a Category within the Catalog has no active content, the Category will not show.
Please consider marking my reply as Helpful and/or Accept Solution, if applicable. Thanks!

@Allen Andreas your answer gives me more knowledge of the platform. that's how ServiceNow design work. I just put some placeholder so the topic will always show for now.
thank you for answering my question.

What's the businesss requirement to override ServiceNow design by displaying a child topic if there's no connected content to show?
Seems to me this would be a negative user experience.
The design intent, in my experience, is to provide the user relevant content, not a dead end.
