Topic table changes need to be manually reindexed

Hello everyone, recently we started seeing blue notifications appear when we drill into our taxonomy item saying "Topic table changes need to be manually reindexed for their corresponding indexed sources. Please manually reindex these table names: Catalog Item Table, Knowledge Table"

 

I have tried Googling this and found a Reddit post about the same issue but they appear to have struck out too. I found a couple of other results in SN Docs (here and here) about table reindexing and followed the steps, but the message still appears.

 

Has anyone else come across this message, and if so, what did you do to resolve it?

@Ashley Heath , The message is static message and will always appear. The message is an Information message to make sure when a topic gets renamed or created that the content items associated will need to be reindexed so that the topic name gets updated in the search results.

@Ashley Heath  Can you provide some screenshots of the message here, so I can see where it is coming from ? 

 

There is (that I am aware off) no automated process to add new catalog items or Kb articles into a topic. These need to be manually managed. There was a new feature added a few releases ago for a new related link on the topic page where it can show potential new items, but they still need to be manually confirmed to be added.

 

Indexing alerts/errors are normally related to AI Search, where some changes have been made that require reindexing in order for the Search to work optimally, but I've never seen to appear through the Taxonomy. 

Hi Dan, and thank you for the reply. I have attached a screenshot of the message and it appears on every taxonomy topic in our ECP. The articles I linked above also referred to AI Search which is where I went to run a manual reindex (All > AI Search > AI Search Index > Indexed Sources) but the message remains after running a full reindex of the "Catalog Item Table" and "Knowledge Table" items.

Thank you for that information Nishant. We're familiar with manually linking knowledge articles and other content items to the various topics, and since we have recently launched our ECP portal we're adding content regularly to the portal. Would manually reindexing the Knowledge and Catalog items be something we will need to do on a periodic basis to make sure things display correctly for our employees?
