Business Capability dropdown in EMV only showing 25 capabilities

I'm testing EMV (Enterprise Modeling and Visualization) and started with a blank document. I dragged a Business Capability shape onto the canvas and I'm trying to tie it to an existing capability as shown in the screen print below. However, it appears that the UI limits me to only being able to select from 25 of the 235 business capabilities we have defined. Can anyone help me understand why?

The list it provides seems to be in alpha order. I am able to type in the box and entered one much farther down the list alphabetically (started with a "W") and it finds that. I can also enter other things and have it find capabilities that are not shown in the list. But I can't do anything to enable it to let me scroll the full list of capabilities.

Hi,

I agree the fact you noticed that the choose existing dropdown display only 25 records out of all available. This paginated behavior has been implemented keeping page loading and interactivity latency minimum.

I totally second to your opinion that there is no message or indication that only 25 out of total number are display and the user can search to find required record by its name. I will pass this feedback to the product team.

Did you get chance to review diagram of type Capability Map that provide exclusive view to all the capabilitites and their nested relationshsip ?

It took me a hot minute to upgrade my PDI to Australia. But I did and can confirm that this has the same behavior there. When trying to assign a Business Capability shape to an existing Business Capability, it only shows 25 capabilities in the drop down.

Same is true for assigning a Business Application shape to an existing Business Application. It only shows 25 business apps in the drop down.

I realize that presenting more than 25 anythings in a drop down is not GREAT user experience. But only showing a subset, without making it clear that it's a subset and that the user can effectively "search" in said drop down by typing in something isn't great user experience either.

The fact that this is happening with both Business Capabilities and Business Apps is good from a consistency perspective... but odd in that it appears that it is the intended behavior.

Thanks Yogesh. I appreciate your passing it along. The "old" interface handled these kinds of field much better...

I have started to look at the Capability Map. Thanks for pointing me in that direction.

HI @MEBoatman ,

Thanks for sharing your feedback.

We understand the pain points around it and have worked around with few improvements on this. We are open to take further suggestions and feedback around this.

Is it a good idea, if we can have a short connect call on this.  Please feel free to drop your views on this here - sandeep.vemulakonda@servicenow.com
