Annual vehicle metric definitions generating monthly metric data records

In our DEV instance, we have existing vehicle miles metric definitions and data. We are now creating new manual and calculated metric definitions for vehicle gasoline data using the same vehicle entity types.

Issue Observed

Although the metric frequency is set to Annual, the system is generating monthly metric data records for vehicle data. This occurs for both manual and calculated metric definitions.

Scheduled Job Review

We identified a scheduled job responsible for executing the metric data and reviewed the script logic. Based on our review, the script behavior aligns with the configured frequency.

Current Workaround

Currently, we are:

Deleting the additional monthly metric data records

Updating the remaining record to reflect an annual reporting period by adjusting the start and end dates

Concern & Question

Since the same configuration will be promoted to UAT, we want to ensure this behavior does not repeat.

What is the recommended long-term approach to ensure that annual vehicle metric definitions generate only annual metric data records?
