Hello all, I tried to deactivate demo entities in my instances. But after a few minutes or so, the entities come back and active. How to deactivate the entities permanently? Advanced thanks!

I couldn't agree more, @Teja Kanchustam. Jan leaving was a huge loss for the community.

@Teja Kanchustam if entities are tagged to entity type manually and if you deactivate those entities, Profile generation job will not reactivate those entities again. Assuming those entities are not mapped to any entity filters.

Hey @rm231,
Is the entity related to an Entity type? OOTB if an entity still meets the conditions of the Entity type's entity filter it will be reactivated. Normally your entity filter have conditions to filter out inactive records in your target table. If there is an attribute on your source table that indicates it is no longer active I would suggest updating the Entity filter to include that and it will no longer reactive the entity.

@GouthamAnumolu, @Connor Levien - Thank you, our entities are linked to an entity type and associated filter. Our use case is to leave that set-up as is, but prevent new entities from getting generated and existing entities to stay as-is (point in time) so we can have a standard/ known set of entities and associated records for a phased go-live. Is there any way to achieve this without repercussions (upstream/ downstream entities, relationships with issues/ controls, etc.)? We've turned on the manual processing flag on entity types and this seems to work, as long as the source record hasn't been changed.
Thank you for your time and input.

That works but if someone clicks on related link ,new entities will be generated. The other way would be to turn off "GRC: Profile generation" job responsible for generating/deactivating entities. But if you turn off the job, entities will not be created for newly created entity types. Based on your requirement, you can take a call.
