Indicators not updating control compliance status

Hi,

We have an issue where some of our indicators stopped working and a positive indicator result doesn't update the control status. There are no open issues or failed attestations related to those controls. We have many indicators and we've been updating some indicator templates recently. My guess is that some relationships or statuses have become messed up.

While debugging what exactly is happening we weren't able to figure out how exactly SN IRM indicator results get passed up to their parent control status. Which business rules or flows are responsible for updating the control status when an indicator result gets generated from an indicator?

Thanks for any pointers in the right direction!

Hi @Michael Oosten1 ,

When you fail an indicator Task, it sets the Control to "Non-Compliant" and create an Issue Task.

The Issue Task needs to be worked on.

The idea is that you need to Remediate or Accept  the reason why its not compliant (in order words fix or accept the issue). If you Remediate and Close the issue, the control will change to compliant. However if you Accept and Close the issue, the control stays at non-compliant.

The "failing" indicator task was closed, it likely created an "issue" for the control. Navigate back to the control and look at the issue related list. You should see an open issue. The issue has to be closed in order for the control's status to be updated.

Hi Sandeep,

I appreciate that you're always the first to answer questions in this forum. However, you're not answering the question. I know how it works, we've been setting up and running thousands of indicators for years. However, some indicators stopped working, and I need to debug. So, I want to know how it technically works: which business rules set Control status to compliant / non-compliant as a result of an Indicator Result?

Hi @Michael Oosten1 ,

I hope i could have read your question properly!!

So you have GRC indicator nightly run Scheduled job running.

and for Business rules :

Yes, I'm aware of these business rules which cause the scheduled indicators to run. However, the question is: once the indicators have run and they have created an Indicator Result, which business rule, event queue or script causes the Control Status to change from compliant or to non-compliant?
