Need Recommendation on Entity Owner

Dear Experts, 

I need the recommendation on the approach of adding a new field as 'Owning Group' to the Entity screen. This is to ensure that the entities are assigned to teams than the individual owner. 

Any best practice advice on this OR is it recommended to stick with Entity Owner

I am also curious to what other users are doing in this case. We have created a custom table that is the source table in the Entity Filter, but we want to get rid of this as it is a hassle. 
I think you should add the Owning Group field on the Entity record and when the entity is created with the Entity Filter, the data comes from the source table, for example CMDB items where you select the Assignment group (support group) of that application as input for the Owning Group on the Entity. 

So when the entity is being created from the entity filter, it will fill the Owning Group field from the data in the Assignment group of the Application.

We got the same question, why should not anybody, or at least a group be able to select all available entities during risk event creation?

No. We informed to customer to move forward with individual entity owner field for the moment
