Renaming domain name

Hello,

Our instance is in domain seperated mode. We want to change the nameof one domain. Is there any risk to change the domain name?

First check all Server Side Scripts, if your Domain Display Value (name) is being used anywhere. If not, you are good to go. It is a good practice to use Domain Path (or Sys_id) instead of name.

Hi,

Changing domain name should not affect on the domain. Since I have never given it a try on my MSP instance, please check it out on a personal development instance before diving right in the production.

Just ensure the domain name to be unique.

Addition to above answers run domain validation after you make these changes. And of course test it in your sub prod or dev instance to make sure everything looks good.

We changed the field "name" for the domain but hte actual doman structure didnt change

for example, TOP/DOMAIN 1/ OLD DOMAIN NAME

The name of the domain was changed to "new domain name" but the domain field stayed at TOP/DOMAIN 1/ OLD DOMAIN NAME

How do we ensure both get updated?
