Asset Audit without Agent app

Hello team,

I would like to perform Audit of Assets without using the mobile app. We have physical  barcode  scanners using which we will be doing the stock take. can some one please walk me through the process. I am reading https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/rome-it-asset-management/page/product/hardware-asset-management/t...  which talks about using the agent app.

this is a must in order for the Asset Audit function to be a viable solution. We find it very difficult to ensure that we have a mobile device that will work for our users in order for them to perform an audit since android seems to be unreliable at best.

No OOB process would allow audit outside Agent App, but there are providers like CG4 (in App Store) that introduces its own audit scan and integrates with all major scanners or you can easily build your own import process with the audit scan logic as the scan logic can be found here  - https://<your-own-instance>.service-now.com/now/nav/ui/classic/params/target/sys_sg_write_back_action_item.do%3Fsys_id%3D6741f2b501521110fa9b7e90b0a15329%26sysparm_view%3D )

Currently Mobile app is the best and recommended solution to scan the assets for Audits.

Hello, so it seems like using the Agent App is the only viable option however is there a way to change the expected scan to be a Serial Number instead of Asset Tag?
