Asset Reclaimation

I just went through the HAM Fundamentals course. Service Catalog Item Reclaim Asset was mentioned in the training but does not say if HAM is required for this Catalog Item. When I go into my instance I can navigate the the Asset Reclamation table and I can click create new task but all fields are greyed out. 

My question is do I have to have HAM in order to use Reclaim Asset or does this come with ITAM? If I do not need HAM then how to I get the fields so they are not greyed out? Also when I search the service catalog Reclaim Asset does not show up.

HAM pro is required for reclaiming hardware assets and SAM pro is required if you need to reclaim software assets also. This is mentioned in the following URL:

Obviously HAM pro is required for Reclaim Asset Catalog item. So basically Reclaim asset is a record producer , on submission of reclaim asset the target table is reclamation request and we have flows and sub-flows to carry out the whole process of shipment , received asset confirmation and evaluate asset through reclamation lines and tasks , same architecture as we do with transfer orders>> lines>> tasks.

Grey out is because of ACL's please disable the ACL's all the fields will be editable. If you need more information on reclaim asset do let me know.

Hi @DWoodmen are you trying to do this in a PDI? 

As @Ashok Sasidhara mentions, you need the HAM application for this.  This is part of the Lifecycle Automation functionality.  The Reclaim Asset catalog item is in the Asset Lifecycle category and you wont see it unless you have HAM (even with HAM you have to add the category to the catalog homepage).

I was able to figure this out and found this line in the Asset Reclamation documentation helpful: "To use Service Catalog Request, you must install SAM Professional or HAM Professional. If you have installed only SAM Professional, you can access the Service Catalog, but only the Software Asset Reclamation flow gets triggered."

We have only installed SAM pro so I was able to add reclaim asset in the service catalog but I am not able to use reclaim hardware asset tasks until we install HAM pro.
