Hello,
I have a request to create a group that will contain a role and so the members of this group will have access to the Asset Workspace and will be able to see the records for asset table (all fields readonly).
I see these are the roles required to access the Asset Workspace
I created a new role 'asset_readonly_test1' and added it there.
I have added this role to the user who needs such access and indeed the module appears in the menu, but when i click on it I get this:
I checked this ACL and i dont know why I cannot add new roles to this list...?
Im security admin, in correct scope and still cant add any new roles, i am only able to remove the roles from here.
any ideas why?

You are looking at the menu item. The roles in your first screenshot are who can see it in the menu and don't grant access to the workspace.
The error on the third screenshot tells you that you are not in the correct scope. You are on global, while this record is in the Asset Management Workspace scope. Change scopes to add roles, but that may also not help you.
Go to the ui builder and find the Asset management workspace. Check on the audiences on the settings menu there. That should tell you the roles required to access the workspace.
