trying to get my head around the different use-cases and scenario for including virtual devices as part of HAM
Starting from a benefits pov, there are the ones i could think of
- Improved visibility and control over virtual assets.
- Enhanced cost management and budgeting.
- Better compliance with licensing and security policies.
- Streamlined lifecycle management for virtual devices.
Are other benefits that could drive this ?
From a SN technical setup i guess the way forward would be to create specific model for virtual devices in scope and create specific model categories.
Would it be best practice to also create a separate alm_virtualdevice table as information +lifecycle and status would be slightly different from hardware devices.
Anyone running HAM (maybe with SAM) for virtual units and can share insights?
