Hello @Harshal Nirmal ,
The hardware asset cost is the total cost of an individual physical asset, including all associated costs such as procurement, shipping, installation, and maintenance. This cost can be manually entered or automatically calculated based on other factors.
On the other hand, the hardware model cost is the cost of a specific model of hardware asset that is being tracked in ServiceNow. This includes the purchase price of the asset as well as any additional costs such as taxes or shipping.
For example, let's say your organization purchases 50 Dell Latitude laptops for $1,000 each. The total cost of all 50 laptops would be considered the hardware asset cost and would equal $50,000. The hardware model cost would be $1,000 per laptop since that is the purchase price for that specific model.
When purchasing a particular model of an asset in ServiceNow using a purchase order line item, you can select the appropriate hardware model from within ServiceNow and add any additional costs such as taxes or shipping charges to derive its total estimated cost. This will then provide a total estimated cost for that particular line item which can be used to generate a purchase order.
Thanks
