How to change model category on already existing assets

Hi,

  I ran into a issue, where i see a single model is tagged as Computer and Printer model categories and assets are created under Computer model category on Asset table. Does changing the model category to "Printer" on model fix the issue on Asset table? How to fix the model category issue on alm_hardware table if the model belongs to Printer but has value of Computer.

 

For example: Below model is "printer" model category but asset got created under "Computer" category.

Hi @MercBuilding 

Updating the model category in the hardware model record does not automatically reflect in the hardware asset records.
First, you should fix the root cause by identifying why the model category was incorrectly set as Computer. Once that issue is identified and resolved, you will need to update the model category value in the hardware asset records using backend scripting.
