Reporting on Warranty Expiration

Morning All,

I've had a requirement from our Senior Managers to generate a report in ServiceNow showing data relating to warranty expiration.

Specifically, the report should initially group assets by Warranty Expired vs Warranty not Expired

Class is Hardware
State is In Stock or In Use

Warranty Expiration is not empty.

The report then needs to be grouped by Model Category > Model > Warranty (Year) > Warranty (Month) > Warranty (Day).

Hopefully that's clear enough.

This should all be grouped in a list view, but the only field I have to report on is "Warranty Expiration", I'm not sure drilling down into dates is possible.

I've also no other fields that stipulate that the warranty has expired, i.e. In Warranty or Out of Warranty.

I've been advised this should all be ONE report, and a dashboard is not acceptable.

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. Please note, we do not have HAM, just the base asset management system.

Hi @Tom104 ,

This is not possible through ServiceNow report designer based on the requirement: The report then needs to be grouped by Model Category > Model > Warranty (Year) > Warranty (Month) > Warranty (Day).

As the warranty expiration is just a date field, the only way you can group by year, month etc. is through a time series report, but this will not be a list view.

Hence, as far as I see it, you're limited to two options:

1. Create the report through performance analytics (again, this is not a report - list view)

2. export data an perform whatever is needed through Excel, PowerBI or other tool for your need.
