Servicenow HAM

Hello Team,

I recently had an interview for a ServiceNow HAM (Hardware Asset Management) position, and the interviewer asked me a question that I was unable to answer:

When we create a consumable asset
when we manually create a CI in ServiceNow,
what are the different ways to create an asset?
Also, if I create an asset, I don't want a CI to be created automatically for it.

Could someone please help me understand this better?

Also, it would be great if you could share some real-time interview questions related to HAM to help me prepare more effectively.

Thank you!

ServiceNow provides various methods for importing data, including:
Manual Entry: Adding asset records individually.
Bulk Upload: Importing data from spreadsheets (CSV or Excel).
Integration: Connecting with other systems to automatically import data.
Discovery: Using ServiceNow Discovery to automatically find and populate asset information.
