Hi everyone,
We're implementing numerous HR services in ServiceNow, and anticipate employee confusion with a large number of individual services.
We're considering consolidating similar services, but manually comparing many services for similarity is challenging.
- What approaches have you used to consolidate HR services in ServiceNow?
- Are there any ServiceNow solutions that assist with this consolidation process?
Thanks!

Hello @Kohei Tominaga1
Categories and Sub Categories...
HR Services are categorised into Categories and Sub Categories which segregates them by purpose they serve.
They can be used to consolidate HR services..
Please mark the answer as helpful and correct if helped.
Kind Regards,
Ravi Chandra

Hi,
I think grouping using category would not resolve my concern.
I want to decrease the number of HR services...

Hi Kohei,
Sharing below my research and understanding, hope this helps and answers your question.
We should try to utilise the OOTB services if they fulfil the need as they can save a lot of time in terms of configuration and maintenance. However, if those 57 services do not match the need then custom HR services can be built.
On HR Service list, we can group by using COEs and find which HR services are part of specific COEs and if there are any redundancies around them.
Below is the OOTB functionality I have consolidated.
OOTB COE | Corresponding HR Services |
HR Case | General Inquiry |
Bulk Parent Case | |
HRIT Operations Case | Setup New Hire Profile |
HR Account access Request
HR Accounts Inquiry | |
HR Portal Support Request

Hi @shweta khemani ,
Thanks for the detailed information!
We're on the same page – OOTB first, custom development only when necessary.
Unfortunately, a large number of our needs aren't covered by the OOTB services, leading to a lot of custom work.
This is causing some concern, so I'm looking for ways to consolidating HR services.
