Employee Document Management (EDM) ability to a document/attachment in mass

Using ServiceNow EDM (Employee Document Management) solution, I have mass loaded documents (bulk import) that need to be reload due to a quality issue with the original attachment.  Is there a way to reload just the attachment for the EDM record that has been already created in the system?  I would like to understand the steps to complete for one record as well as for a large number of documents (bulk update).

Is my below assumption correct!

When we open any document of the employee we can see 'Purge hold' option from this we can place "Pending Purge Authorization?" is this correct?
