Help expanding search of Agent Assist (HR Agent Workspace)

We have a separate knowledge base for our Policy library, and I want to add another search element to the Agent Assist (on the right side bar of Agent Workspace). I tried to get assistance from HI support, but they only pointed me to documentation that I didn't find all that helpful.

I think it's the right direction but the docs don't seem thorough enough. It seems the searcher configuration is quite convoluted. (unless I'm going at it all wrong)
