HRSD - how to restrict service portal access to users

Hi team, looking for guidance on how to implement following customer requirement for HRSD.
Customer is going through an employee band restructuring exercise (for about 2 weeks) during which employees should only have two features available in their HR portal (its a custom service portal not ESC)
  1. Users should only be able access catalog item submit a new HR case
  2. Users should be able to interact with virtual agent via portal
all other functionality shouldn't be available on portal (edited)

for the virtual agent, you can add the roles on sn-va-sp-widget.

 

for the HR case, it can be controlled with HR criteria, for all the remaining items, "Not available for" has to added .

The question is more around below

We want users to be able to only access virtual agent and create a HR case page on portal all other portal content shouldnt be accessible for a period of two weeks.

Hello @VaranAwesomenow 

for those two weeks, Content should be restricted using roles and HR criteria on the widgets, catalog items etc....

 

If a role like nobody is added on all items except that one item, then users will not have access to all the other items.

 

Apart from Catalog items, Access to Knowledge can be restricted using user criteria and other items like widgets, menu items can be restricted using roles.

we dont use employee center its a custom service portal so how to apply HR criteria to portal widgets ?
