Hi Team,
We have enabled cloud discovery for our client and through which Virtual Machine Instance is only getting discovered not the Host record, we have some limitations due to which we cannot proceed with Host Server discovery through IP based, when we checked with our cloud team we got to know we do not have any Virtual Machine Instances in our environment. Now since only VM Instance is getting discovered we thought of limit them from the Incident, Problem & Change table and keep the Host record available, we were able to achieve this but we also have few integrations with multiple Monitoring tools and they creates an Incident for us if they get to know about an outage or alert for any specific CI adding the CI in the Configuration Item field and here our Monitoring tools are using VM Instance for raising the Incident and we want that Monitoring tools should create the Incident using Host record, since we have the integrations with multiple monitoring tools so we thought of making changes in ServiceNow itself not on the tools side. We need help here if we can add any query or script through which we can replace the VM Instance with the Host record while Incident is been created by any monitoring tool.
Thanks,
Suresh.
