We’re excited to announce that ServiceNow® ITOM Discovery is now integrated with Rubrik. Rubrik provides a platform that securely delivers backup, recovery, analytics, and compliance across data centers and clouds. As such, Rubrik has a tremendous amount of Configuration Item (CI) data that can be used to drive outcomes with ServiceNow IT Worfklows across the entire IT Value Chain.

The integration is compliant with the Common Service Data model (CSDM) and is very well suited for technical services. It starts to get really interesting when you consider what kind of insight can be achieved. As normal, you can see your application services, CI relationships, CI tasks and related services in the CMDB Dependency View just by being CSDM compliant. But, how are the technical services that provide backup and restore related to your application services? Hint - if the CI data needed to represent a technical backup and restore service is not available, then you won't see the relationship.

With the Rubrik integration, you will gain additional insight into risks ultimately related to your application services that might not matter right this second, but really matter if you have an application service outage.

What if you didn't realize that the related backup and restore service only worked intermittently for the last week?

In addition to detailed CI information, this integration also provides metadata with regards to the functioning of the technical service. AIOps driven auto-remediation for proactive risk management anyone?

There is a lot more to this integration - 19 different CI classes are getting populated in addition to a large number of CI relationships. Here are the docs.

You can get the pattern starting today from the ServiceNow store

Rubrik also has an additional ServiceNow store application that you can find here
