Best practice guide for Service Discovery schedule run (Post service discovery / mapping implementation)

How often should a Discovery schedule be triggered or invoked ? is it every day / weekly ?

When is it best to run the Discovery schedule ? off peak hour or Off business hours ?

Can someone send me a best practice guide or material which can be used by a company to deal with future work on service Discovery / Mapping.

Ans:- It depends upon the no. of IP ranges in your network and mid server bandwidth .

If the target HOST/CI value properties does not change frequently why discover daily ? run twice a week

In my instance there are 8k windows servers+ 1000 linux+3000 network devices and 4 mid servers each 8GB ram which take care easily . I can do with 3 mid server but it will slow down the discovery .

You need to increase the threads count in your mid server settings as per the mid host ram.

I am using 50 threads on 8 GB ram host. Article describing:-

Please make separate discovery JOB for network devices as these takes a longer time than anyone.

Use cluster/behavior in your discovery.

Ans:- 

I ran them twice in a week.

Best timings:- sat/sun midnight and Wednesday night when the instance is not too busy.

You can find your own non-business hours
