Hello everyone, I have been working ServiceNow ITSM modules such as incident, Change, Service Catalog and Request fullfillment. Lately, I want to transition into ITOM as a business analyst working on the Now Platform. My question has anyone ever in the capacity- as a business analyst; and what role/part did you play?
Thanks in anticipation for your answers.

Hi @timokemi ,
Hope you are doing fine.
In ServiceNow ITOM, a business analyst typically plays a critical role in ensuring that the IT Operations Management solution meets the business requirements and provides value to the organization. Some of the key responsibilities of a business analyst in ServiceNow ITOM may include:
First and the foremost important thing is you should have process knowledge on Discovery , event management , service mapping .
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs, pain points, and goals related to IT operations.
- Analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical requirements.
- Participating in the design, development, and implementation of ITOM solutions.
- Conducting user acceptance testing to ensure that the solution meets the business requirements.
- Providing ongoing support to end-users and addressing any issues that arise.
The specific role and responsibilities of a business analyst may vary depending on the organization, the ITOM solution being implemented, and the scope of the project. However, a business analyst in ServiceNow ITOM typically works closely with other IT professionals, such as developers, project managers, and system administrators, to ensure the success of IT operations.
