When a Data Certification Task is marked Failed, we would like a Data Remediation Task generated to another group to remediate. Does Service Now have any plans to include in future releases or is it there now and I am just missing it?

There's no such feature. However, you can make use of the CMDB compliance Audit feature to create Data remediation tasks upon failure of the audit.

I believe there is already a feature in a platform called the Audit from CMDB Compliance. You can find it in the navigator under the Compliance menu
Generally, We create Audits to certify the data, Upon failure of the audit a certification "Follow on task" will be created and gets assigned as per the assignment type mentioned in the audit record. You can also schedule the audit to run as per the calendar.
You can also refer to some OOB Audit records from the cert_audit table.
Pointer - If there's already an open follow on task created for any CI or data record next time if the audit fails again task will not be created.
