Discovering Windows OS installed programs

My question is, how can I make discovery show installs like Notepad, stickynotes, calculator, solitaire etc.

The ask is for these to show up under software installations

You should be able to see the insalled software on cmdb_software_instance table. 

You should be checking running processes for the list you mentioned.
