Hi James,

According to my experience, first you have to configure SNMP in network device. I think for Cisco 3850 series supports SNMPv2c and SNMPv3.

To configure SNMPv2 and SNMPv2c please refer below link:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/snmp/configuration/xe-3se/3850/snmp-xe-3se-3850-book/nm-snmp-snmpv2c.html

To configure SNMPv3 please refer below link:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/snmp/configuration/xe-3se/3850/snmp-xe-3se-3850-book/nm-snmp-snmpv3.html.

Discovery supports SNMP versions 1, 2c, and 3. Discovery uses version 1 and 2c by default. You must enable support for version 3.

To discover network devices in Discovery refer below link:

https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/london-it-operations-management/page/product/discovery/concept/c_NetworkDiscovery.html#c_NetworkDiscovery

To enable support for version 3:

https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/london-it-operations-management/page/product/discovery/concept/c_SNMPSupportForDiscovery.html#c_SNMPSupportForDiscovery

Please refer below link for more info:

Please after going through this mark it as helpful or correct.

Thanks,

Vinay

It's hard to tell what the question is. If you get SNMP access you can just discover it. Now to map Layer 3 relationships go to discovery properties and make sure the enable layer 3 topology setting is set and you should start to see some relationships between the network device and things connected to it.
