Event Management events are not processed. Because such events are not processed, alerts will not be created nor incidents which are created by such alerts.

Events are not getting processed may be below URL will be ur help to troubleshoot

Events are stored in the em_event table with status = Ready and are processed by scheduled Job [sys_trigger] Event Management Process events which execute every 5 seconds. Therefore, the "Next action" should be a few seconds from now.  If "Next action" is a time in the past, then likely the job is stuck. If the job was claimed by a passive node, then the job is stuck as well.

If your Event Management events are not being processed in ServiceNow, it can lead to a lack of alerts and incidents being generated. To address this issue, you can follow these general troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check Event Management Configuration:

    • Ensure that the Event Management configuration is set up correctly. Check the configuration parameters, including event rules, correlation rules, and alert rules.
  2. Event Rule Conditions:

    • Verify that the conditions specified in your event rules are accurate and match the incoming events. Event rules define the criteria that must be met for an event to be processed.
  3. Correlation Rules:

    • If you are using correlation rules, review them to make sure they are correctly configured. Correlation rules define how multiple events are correlated to form alerts.
  4. Alert Rules:

    • Check your alert rules to ensure they are properly configured to create alerts based on the correlated events.
  5. Event Processing Status:

    • Check the status of the event processing. Look for any errors or warnings related to event processing in the logs. This can provide valuable insights into what might be going wrong.
