How to enable mid selection in cloud discovery

Hi All,

I'm trying to do scheduled cloud discovery and it is asking me to do migrate to pattern sync. What does that mean?

How can I enable mid server selection option.

Thanks,

Supriya.

I managed to resolve the same issue by migrating CPG to pattern

Simply navigating to "ALL >> Pattern Designer  and open the Migrate CPG to Pattern". From there you can run a prerequisite check before migrating. I also noticed that there is a KB attached for more information https://hi.service-now.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0827153

As for the selection, you can validate the The list of installed applications that can use MID Servers appear - Configure a default MID Server for each application (servicenow.com).

Hope this works for you too.

PS, I think one of the replies has 'ChatGPT' written all over it 😉

Hi @Supriya B ,

Hope you are doing great.

To enable pattern sync for scheduled cloud discovery, you'll need to follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the "Cloud Management" application in ServiceNow.
  2. Open the "Cloud Management Configuration" module.
  3. Click on "Cloud Account" to access the cloud account configuration.
  4. Select the cloud account for which you want to enable pattern sync.
  5. In the cloud account form, locate the "Discovery" section.
  6. Check the box labeled "Enable pattern sync" to enable pattern sync for that specific cloud account.
  7. Save the configuration to apply the changes.

Enabling pattern sync ensures that ServiceNow leverages the latest discovery patterns and synchronization capabilities to provide more accurate and up-to-date information about your cloud resources.

  1. "How can I enable mid server selection option?"

To enable the mid server selection option in ServiceNow, you'll need to perform the following steps:

  1.  Navigate to the "System Applications" section in ServiceNow.
  2. Open the "System Properties" module.
  3. In the system properties form, search for the property named "glide.discovery.mid_server.preferred".
  4. Set the value of this property to "true" by either checking the box or entering "true" in the corresponding field.
  5. Save the changes to the system properties.

Hi Riya,

I didn't find this property "glide.discovery.mid_server.preferred" in our system. I didn't find cloud management in the Left Navigation, Do you mean Cloud Admin portal?

Thanks,

Supriya.
