ITOM Discovery Licensing

Hi All,

Wanted to understand if we are not subscribing for the ITOM Discovery License , do we not have access to CMDB tables with ITSM pro alone.? 

want to know the if we can work maintaining the CMDB table without Discovery.

By default Configuration Management Database (CMDB) will be there with ITSM pro.ServiceNow Configuration Management Database gives you full visibility into your infrastructure and service.

So to answer your question just for CMDB tables you don't need to have a discovery subscription. With the discovery plugin(com.snc.discovery) you will get all the probs/patterns/schedules/credentials to discover a CI.

To purchase a Discovery subscription, contact your ServiceNow account manager or sales representative. When the Discovery plugin is activated, the following plugins are also activated:

  • The Cloud Management Core (com.snc.cloud.core) plugin is also activated to provide functionality for Azure and AWS discovery
  • The ITOM Licensing (com.snc.itom.license) plugin

Discovery is not needed for ITSM Modules which Includes CMDB .

Discovery subscription comes with ITOM and CMDB comes with ITSM Subscription.
