Nlyte Integration with ServiceNow CMDB - Has any one successfully completed the integration process, i am currently facing an issues where the integration is complete and handshake has been successful, The CI information has been manually added to Nlyte and it does not integrate with the CMDB table, the Servicenow cmdb tables too were manually added. please assist me on this regard.

One very important key to understand when integrating data sources to feed into the CMDB is CI identifiers.  These are rules that define specific criteria used to identify & match equipment during import for create/update operations.   If equipment was manually added to either system (Nlyte or SN CMDB), the attributed used by these rules must be present to setup a long term (repeatable, reliable) successful integration strategy.  Its certainly very feasible -- but the data sources must have appropriate data defined & CI ID's for correlating between sources.

It unclear what "does not integrate with CMDB table" really means??  What specific table?  what specifically isn't working?

Side note, May I suggest you tag this question as a "Discovery" issue, which sounds more likely (vs. Service Mapping)

The last time I saw an nLyte integration was admittedly a few years ago, but it was using a somewhat limited nLyte provided fat client that was attempting direct table updates. Dave is correct that the CI Identifiers and the Reconciliation and Identification Engine is vital to passing data into the CMDB.

As I recall, the nLyte fat client was quite persnickety and as I said, limited.

persnickety.... <grin>

Hi Vipin,

We are also planning to integrate Nlyte with ServiceNow CMDB.

Could you please provide us few useful links which you have explored during your implementation of handshake and data integration, it would be very helpful for us to begin with?

Kind Regards,
