What are the steps to link a Business Service to its application-level Service Map in ServiceNow

Hello all,

I’m working on mapping a Business Service in ServiceNow and need to understand how to bind it to its application-level Service Map.

Could you guide me on the navigation and actions required to link the Business Service to the application map effectively?

Any quick help is much appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

The way I do it is that when I create (or update) an Application Service I add the relationships to both Business Application and also to the Business Service offering, which indirectly creates the relationship to the Business Service.

Hi @Chris A - UK ,

Appreciate your quick response,

1. Can you also let me know how to navigate to tag all this together? How to navigate to this page which is displayed in this screenshot?

2. Also for service mapping what all needs to be linked together?

Thanks so much!

If you navigate to  'Application Services' list and select CSDM view... then when you view each Application Service that you have created it will give this view, or you can create a new App Service and get the screen shot above.

You can create an Application Service and map CI's to the service this way using one of the mapping methods - Manual, Tag based, top down discovery, Dynamic Ci groups etc

Hi @Chris A - UK ,

Thankyou for helping me on this query, appreciate it. Just to add on your solution, csdm_app_services is the table name, where we can get this mapping view. Thanks so much!
