Why out of Band devices are being discovered as IP Switches or Routers

Hello Experts,

At present in our instance some of the out of the band devices having description "Cisco Integrated Management Controller" are being discovered as IP Switches by discovery.

And it is working fine for Dell and HP but not for Cisco.

Any reason of this?

Any type of help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I would say you can change because if you create multiple entries with same OID then it will cause issues for you.

So please change.

Hi Ashutosh,

Can you please help me in understanding about out of band devices? What are these and how they can be discovered?

Actually in our instance, I have executed a scan over IP range using "SNMP Only" behaviour but in that discovery status I am able to see few Out of band devices as well.
