Hello Every one

I have a query regarding window servers hosted on azure cloud to discover with IP address. Can some share what was  prerequisites apart from below

1. Mid Server to set up in VM in azure cloud.

2. Credentials (what are the credentials required for this)

(i) Windows credentials or  (ii) Service Account credentials

3. IP ranges (already available)

4. Discovery schedule (to be configured)

I have query around credentials regarding what type we required and ports to be enabled!

@rpriyadarshy @SiD2

thanks in advance

Hi @Raviteja Polana

You must have done but again informing, prior to this first the cloud discovery should be successful for resp SA where you will see the associated VM would be discovered in CMDB.

In the same cloud schedule you have an option to deep discover the VM [the backend actual server CI] and you can switch that on and it would auto feed the IPs to another IP disc schedule and will discover the server CI for associated VM CI.

For this all to happen you need to have both creds, SA cred for cloud disco and Win Server Cred for the actual server disco. You can refer to the standard win server prerequisites from the docs site to know which ports need to be open.

Hi @SiD2

Thanks for your response!

Is there a way to hit windows servers with IP-Address when we place our mid server in one of VM inside azure. On this time, do we need to have only win cred or Service Account cred or both. As client is not interested to do cloud discovery.

Hi @Raviteja Polana

Ok, in that case you just need to create win server cred and it should be reachable from outside with public IP and standard ports open for authentication and then you can discover it from technical aspect.

But I'm not sure if its a good approach or not, I'm not a right person to give an idea on this though technically its possible.
