ACL Assessment question

Newbie question:

I am relatively new to ServiceNow and received the bulletin on Enabling Report View ACLs.

I am working through the assessment steps in my dev instance, but have run into a wall...

I have installed the 'ACL Assessment for Reports' application, but cannot access it.

I see that I must elevate my authority to Security Administrator, but as a simple 'admin', I do not have the ability to elevate.

I impersonate the Admin user account, but  that does not give me access to the report nor can I elevate to Security Administrator.

I try to sign in directly to my instance with the Admin account, but that seems to be a restricted thing.

I am sure this is something very simple that I am just not seeing, but can anyone give  me any direction here?

Much appreciated!

Hello SteveD,

Since you are already having admin access and you need security_admin access for this , you need ask someone from your team with the security_admin access to give this role to you.

Till you will not get this role you won't be able to move forward.

Let me know if you have any other query.

And do mark my response as correct if it solves your query.

Thanks

Hello,

You need to have "security_admin " role in order to elevate the privileges.

Simple admin role will won't help here.

Thanks.

Please mark my response as helpful and correct if it solves your query.

So, next question - If I cannot sign in as Admin and cannot give myself the security admin role, how am I supposed to be able to validate the impact of this process which requires security admin to run the assessment?

OK - so I have figured out the missing piece - that is how to sign in as the system administrator and then from that account, elevate my privileges and access the ACL Report dashboard.

Thanks, Mahak, for your direction in this question.
