Here's the scenario...we have a process to setup users in our system. These users know nothing about SN, so we want to auto-email them a user guide upon account creation. Instead of sending out a PDF, I was hoping to simply send a link to a KB article that had some basic instructions as well as a PDF for them to download.
I went through the process of creating a KB just for this article and publishing an article in it to test. I thought all I had to do was create a KB that had nothing defined under the Can Read...that didn't work, so I created a Can Read that simply had the 'public' role defined. Still nada. There is nothing on the individual article that allows me to open it up (we're on istanbul, I see references to roles on articles, but don't see any on ours).
Is there a way to do this? or would I be better off saving a PDF to a KB article, then emailing that PDF via scripts?
Thanks

Be wary if you do this, and be sure your existing KBs are setup properly! I just did it and found that we had 2 other existing KBs with no Can Read roles defined so they were open to the world...obviously if you set this up properly to start with it's no issue...but you should double check your existing KBs. Thanks
