Attachments in Templates

What is the purpose of having a paperclip to make attachments in templates when it does not work in the desired way. If I add an attachment to a template I expect that attachment to be visible every time someone uses the template.

Using javascript is not an option for me to add attachments as I am not a developer.

Is there a simple way to achieve this?

If not, can you remove the paperclip to stop idiots like me thinking it does something useful.

Has there been any updates on this feature requests. I know how to copy an attachment from one task type to another but have not found where the "Apply Template" script is located to included this code to support the feature.

Does anyone know where this is located? TIA

Does anyone have any advice on this matter?

A few years later and it looks like the situation hasn't changed.   I am attempting to add an attachment to a template but the attachment is not included.   There's a paperclip available in the template config form and and in the entity generation schedule form but neither work to make the attachment present when the template is used.

Could this be a UI Policy or security feature preventing this?

I am still having same issue, and I still cannot resolve it. Please advise if there is anyone successful with this issue.

Imagine it's 12-13 years later....and this issue still exists.

What's the point of having a paperclip attachment icon on a template, if when you utilize the template the attachment isn't included?

Same logic should apply to notifications too...If I create a notification and add an attachment to it, every time that notification is sent, the attachment should be sent with it.  This should apply to workflow notifications and system email notifications.

Simple logic yet apparently not so simple.
