Hi,
I am reading Docs to learn ITSM application and found that users with change_manager role can make some changes.
Example:
- Approval Definition
- Automatic change conflict detection
- Standard change template
- Predefined transition condition type
Does this mean that users with change_manager role should be allowed to configure these directly in Production instance?
In my understanding, it is the standard approarch to make changes in Dev and after testing the changes to be migrated to Prod as written in this article. However, If these kind of changes need to follow this migration step, change manager cannot make changes without admin role or help by admin users. Again, I want to understand how change manager make these changes.

Hi @Kohei Tominaga1 ,
The users with change_manager role will NOT be allowed to configure these directly in Production instances. It's only with the developers.
As per documentation, the users with "Change manager" role will be able to see the records but most of the Fields will be Read- only.
Let's understand with an example :
i have impersonated with a User having Change manager role , then i have navigated to Standard Change> All templates.
See below, i don't have access to create a new template :
When open one of the record , most of the fields are read- only :

When I impersonated to Change Manager, which is the OOTB user with change_manager role, I can see change template. And then after clicking on of the template, I can see "Modify template" related link as below.
After clicking the link, I could modify and update the template.
So, without hepl of developers, Change manager can make changes.

Hi @Kohei Tominaga1 ,
Apologies, yes the change manager can use those 3 related links and make the changes in PROD as well.
if you want to limit the access, then you have to go with ACL configuration on "std_change_record_producer" table.
