Continual Improvement Management - How is approval exactly triggering ,where all of it is defined ?

Hi Experts,

Recently I have been assigned a task in Continual Improvement Management module ,where instead of group approval, customer wants to add manual approvers after accepting the Case . 

But I am not able to to find any BR, UI Policy ,UI action , Client script which is making approver group field mandatory and triggering all approval .

Can anyone please help me with the scripts or flow on how these approval are being triggered right now, so i can study them and make changes accordingly.

By default, an improvement requires approval before it can progress to the Implement state. You can disable the approval requirement using the sn_cim.need_approval property. When disabled, the Approver group field and the Approvers related list on the Improvement Initiative form are not shown.
