Flow are slow

Flow are generating approvals slow and after approval task is taking time . There is at least 1-5 minutes delay. 
I am using flow for catalog item. As all the catalog item are in global scope, I am not sure if I can create a flow in custom scope and use for the catalog items

There may be lots of things running in background in parallel which must be impacting the delay and performance. 

 

Check if you can optimise your flow designer and also see if any Business Rules or other functions running same time in parallel.
