I want to create a CHILD Requested Item with Flow Designer.
We already have several catalog Items. One should be the Parent, some other need to be used to creat child RITMs.
So first the Parent catalog item gets requested. After approval the child RITMs should be created.
We can create the child RITMs (with Flow Designer) and attach it to the Parent RITM and Request. But the FLOW of the child RITMs is not created/started. Here just a screenshot on a POC how we create the child RITM.
What do we need to do, to create the missing Flow context?

Hi
to be honest It's the first time, that I hear to have child RITM records. What is the business requirement behind that? Which goal do you want to achieve and what missing feature do you want to compensate?
And to answer your question. For RITMs a Flow is only triggered when it is assigned to a catalog item and when the RITM has been created via checkout.
Kind regards
Maik

Hi Maik,
our business request is: When we want to "enable" a new service, we want to create a RITM for each ITSM-Process (which the serviceowner wants, e.g. Incident, Request Fullfillment ect.). Therefore we thought we provide a catalog item "enable new service". By the flow of this RITM then the "needed" other RITMs should be created. We want to avoid that each of ther other RITMs have their own request. All should be under ONE request. Therefore we tought, child RITMs would be the right approach.
Can you please explain, what you mean with "RITM has been created via checkout". Can we do this also within a flow? Then this could be the solution for us.

Hi
thanks for the explanation, which helps to understand your challenge.
To my mind the so-called Order Guides should fit your requirements: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/quebec-servicenow-platform/page/product/service-catalog-managemen...
Kind regards
