How can you update the look-n-feel of the Service Catalog?

Our service catalog has UI elements that just look ... old.  The Item Ordering Widget, for instance, doesn't float correctly and the buttons on it are old/out of date table html elements with images embedded vs modern UI 16 button elements.

Where is this information stored?  How can I begin to figure out what needs updated and then begin the process of updating it?

/completely new to ServiceNow, btw, as if you couldn't tell by the question!  🙂

Ok. It's definitely not the problem I was thinking then. I think you'd better open on Incident in HI so they can log in and see more about how your system is configured. Sorry!

Thanks!

One more thought. There is a case where Catalog Items can have a custom cart specified at the cart level and this will override the glide.sc.use_cart_layouts property. Do you have any Catalog Items where either catalog_cart_default or a custom cart layout has been specified? Check the Cart field of the items in the "Service Catalog > Maintain Items" module.

If this is it, then more details can be found at the KB article ServiceNow KB: PRB677910: In the cart layout, the item ordering widget is not used if a catalog item...

Um.   I'm going to say no to that.   I'm not really sure if I understand where to look, but I added the "Shopping Carts" related list to the form for a problematic service catalog item and found it to be empty:

My thought is that we're using the default cart layout for this item.

Robert, looks like either you are on a older version of Service Now platform or you have switched your platform back to UI15 from UI16.

So what is UI16 and 15? Simply UI15 is the user interface of an older version (Fuji) and UI16 is the new user interface introduced with Geneva release. If you are on Fuji or below, the only way to get new UI is upgrading the platform. However if you are Geneva and above, you can toggle between UI15 and UI16. if you want the new look, simple press a button and switch to it. Find the information here: Switch between UI16 and UI15

If you are below Fuji, please refer this wiki to find more information: Administering the User Interface - ServiceNow Wiki

This is how UI15 look:

And this is how UI16 looks like:

Is this for ITIL uses or for self-service?

If you want to have more control of layout for self-service users, consider using the Istanbul Service Portal.   The Service Portal was introduced in Helsinki, but it has fewer idiosyncrasies in Istanbul.
