We usually set SLA on sc_task table. Because Requested Item ultimately leads to tasks and each task cloud be assigned to different groups.
So every task created, based on the catalog item, run the SLA

Hi,
you can create sla for catlog item and catlog task.
see the OOTB sla .
check the conditions for existing sla .
Mark correct and helpful based on impact.
