Need Help Adding a Date Picker Filter to Dashboard Reports Based on Ticket Created Date

Hi All,

I have a requirement to add a Date Picker Interactive Filter to a dashboard in ServiceNow.

Here’s what I need help with:
- I want to filter the report data on the dashboard based on the Created Date field of the tickets.
- The Date Picker should allow users to select a date or date range.
- Once a date is selected, all relevant reports on the dashboard should update accordingly, showing only tickets created on (or between) the selected dates.
- I want to ensure the filter is properly linked to the reports (using Interactive Filter Mapping or any recommended best practice).

Note : The reports are normal report and not PA report

What are you using? Platform Analytics or still the old, soon to be deprecated dashboards? Because within Platform Analytics you can just create your dashboard and add a date filter to it. The filter supports ranges and specific dates OOB (which is not something available on the old dashboards).

 

You can just set your reports to follow the filter and your filter will be updating the entire dashboard.

Depending on the tables (if there are multiple), you may need to set the fields it is supposed to look at, based on the table, but that's all done within the filter itself.

That depends on if the dashboards are PA or not: you cannot add interactive filters to PA dashboards. 

 

The filters you put on PAE dashboards are interactive by default.
