parent in Update sets

What is the parent in the update sets? what we will configure the in the parent look up field? actually when will we use this field?

Hi,

parent field is used when you migrate the update sets using the Concept of Batching

It will contain one of the update set from your instance

It is used for maintaining the hierarchy while migrating the update sets

Hi there,

You can use this if you want to work with Batch Update Sets. A Batch Update Set has multiple advantages, like closing the Batch Update Sets also closes all the childs, a Batch Update Set can have childs from multiple scopes, when previewing on a higher instance you only need to preview and commit the batch (parent) update set, etc..
