Question on Okta to Servicenow integration

Hi,

We have integration with Okta to Servicenow instance so when users gets created in Okta it automatically creates in Servicenow application which is working perfectly fine.

When we see the Okta instance under Provisioning -> Integration tab we have Import groups check box set as True. Can anyone please help to understand about this.

when we did this integration for some reason all the groups created in Servicenow application are getting created in Okta as well and we want to cleanup these groups in OKTA.

What happens if i delete the groups or if disable the Import groups option in okta will that impact in Servicenow as well and deletes in Servicenow?

Hi,

I am not sure about this. But when i read this it only sync okta group to servicenow and not servicenow to okta.

You can try with dev servicenow instance and okta prod to cleanup the groups.

Thank you Sir. But the OKTA docs where i am referring says to other domain to OKTA.

Import groups from Active Directory using the Okta AD agent

You can import security groups from any forest or domain that you connect to Okta. For details about AD group import scenarios, see FAQ: Okta and AD groups. The AD agent detects all groups in the domain or the Organizational Units (OUs) that you have selected. If you register an AD agent for more than one domain and you have the root OU selected for all domains, it imports all groups.

This is what i am saying. Groups from AD goes to Okta and then servicenow.

Thank you Ashutosh. But we do not have AD integration we just have straight forward OKTA to Servicenow integration where they create users in OKTA account and that gets created in Servicenow
