Hello,
I am looking to create a report or dashboard of all the opened RITM against our assignment group with their associated tasks. Everything I few posts I have read indicate this cannot be done and I can create the opposite report (tasks and associated RITMS). I find this hard to be true?
We have RITMs that require multiple tasks to be completed for the RITM to be completed as such we would like to start with the RITMs that our customers have opened and then look at the associated tasks to get the current detailed status. I would love an interactive report somehow. Is this possible???
Thank you
Jason

Then maybe you should try hierarchical lists. They will let you expand any record in a list of RITMs and see the corresponding Tasks without having to navigate away from the RITM list.

Have you tried using a grouped list for that? Open a list of Catalog Tasks and group it by Requested Item.

Yes. I did do that, but this does not provide the status of the Request Item and if I add it to the task it is not easily discerned. I guess I am confused as to why this would not be a normal use case. Am I using the Request Item incorrectly? A user requests something and if it has multiple steps I have the workflow creating catalog tasks for each step and the stage is updated upon completion of each task. I just want to be able to look at users' requests and see the associated stage and then look at tasks if not completed.... but to do this I have to create a report on tasks and pull the Req Item out through the tasks? This just seems backwards, no?

This should do it. It is a bit slow and sometimes the list does not load, but I think this is about as close as I can get. Thank you.
Of course, this took a while for me to get it to work because the "hierarchical list" checkbox was not listed on my form. I had thought this was a limitation of our version or the type of list or the need for a defined related list, but all that was needed was for me to configure the layout to include that field.
