Reporting on cost of a service outage

Hello,

I have a user case where we would like to report on the cost of an outage on a service. Does anyone know the best place to record and pull this information from?

Secondly, there may be an accumulation of charges i.e one from the service being unavailable and then from support teams who may have call out charges. What is the best way to store these costs and report on them? Hoping for an OOB way of achieving this.

Thanks.

Chaz.

I think you need to have an idea on how much the Service being down will cost per hour or minute.  Then add this to the Business Service Area as an attribute of the Service - then you would determine how long your outages were and do the math. Unless you have precise timing this can be an inexact science.. also time of day may have an impact on the cost incurred

Hi. I am looking for an OOB solution ideally as I would like to limit the number of new fields.

Does anyone know if service portfolio management and the use of Service commitments could work here? On the commitment the cost per minute/hour can be set, but not sure where and how to capture call out charges for support groups?

Any suggestions on this would be most welcome.
