Searching a keyword globally doesn't return any INC related information.

Searching generic  (Example: outlook, sap, display) keywords not returning any results related regarding  incidents (see screenshot).

But whenever we search technical or less common words such as (Example: MYCAT, P3A or SAP P3A), we see result returning with incidents.

Hi,

Do the generic and technical keywords exist within the same field (or different fields) on the incident table?   Are you using the Zing search?  If so, have you checked System Definition > Text Indexes > Task to see if any of the generic keywords are configured as stop words?

Hello Craig,

Thanks for you reply.
We have checked text index, System Definition > Text Indexes > Task > index stop words
We have found three words are presents in stop words but when I delete stopword (outlook) and did global search, we got only one incident under task but we have above 20K+ incident with "outlook" keyword in "short description", "Description", "Worknotes", "additional comments".

Can you please suggest, why

Did you regenerate the index?

From the docs:

  1. To disable a stop word in table-specific stop word lists, perform the following steps for each table that includes the stop word:
    1. Navigate to All > System Definition > Text Indexes.
    2. Edit the table's text index record.
    3. In the Index Stop Words related list, edit the record for the stop word.
Note: If the Index Stop Words related list isn't visible, open the form context menu and select View > Default view.
    4. On the Index Stop Word form, set the stop word's stop mode to Not a Stop Word and select Update.
    5. On the Text Index form, select the Regenerate Text Index related link.

If we are searching more precise words like sap p3b access we are not getting any results even this word is not stop word, but we see results for sap p3b .
