Service Catalog request for multiple users

Hi all,

 

Need some help and advice in finding a better way in dealing with a service catalog request item that I am not happy with the way it's currently working.

 

Scenario: Access Requests that involve multiple users.

 

Currently, our form is set up basically to enter the details of only one user per form and what people do to get around this is added the additional users via an attachment or by adding them to the notes/comments section of the form.

 

This was all okay until I went through a recent audit and spent a lot of time, plus had a lot of trouble identifying the users that were added via the above mentioned method. section.

 

So what I'm wanting to hear about from forum members is how other organisations are handling this type of scenario, with the end game of improving my existing processes.

Hello Sean,


In reading your post, I could not help but wonder if the cart and checkout options were turned off.   If they aren't, then the person filling out the request would have been able to fill out the form once, click "add to cart" and then simply enter the name of the next person.  



There is also a wiki article related to Attachment Indexing, which may allow for text searches within attached spreadsheets.

Hi Guys,



Thanks so much for providing the advice and direction for my question, but this only solves half of my problem. It's a perfect solution for users that are already exist in our AD. The remaining issue I have is that my process also needs to cater for people who need to be added to our AD, so what way would you suggest I capture their details without a reference table and still be able to bulk clone.

Any reason why you want to raise the requests before the users are loaded in the Servicenow system?
